When I try to start the BF 1 Trial, it just opens a black window, which after a few seconds closes again with no error message of any kind. For that duration, the game is also shown in the task manager.
Fixes I've tried so far with to no effect:
-Origin Repair tool
-Full Reinstall
-Updating graphics drivers
-Disabling firewall and antivir
-Launching it as administrator
-Launching it in compatibility mode for Windows 8 and 7
-Disabling Origin in game
-Several clean reboots
-Opening up all relevant ports
The live support unfortunately couldn't offer any other ideas beyond some of those standard fixes, though apparently the expert team wasn't available at the time. The Windows reliability monitor characterises it as an Appcrash, but also doesn't offer any solutions. One thing that did stand out to me is that one of the logs (attached as a screenshot, since html attachments don't seem to work) notes a "TK Initialization error", though I can't tell whether that might be a cause or just an effect of the unexpected shutdown. The other log also offers some warnings, but once again I can't make much sense of it.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Thanks for the post. I think the issue lies with the Origin activation rather than the game itself. Can you try reinstalling the Origin client, then running Origin as an administrator?

This won't necessitate a game reinstall so should be a quick process.

That actually did the trick, I don't know why I didn't try that sooner. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the confirmation, Rhllor.
@0911011691 It shouldn't really matter whether the issue is with the trial or the purchased game, can I check if you've tried the Origin reinstall as mentioned?
Thanks.
