I know this old but this didn't work for me. I still get no dialogue while playing this game only. Do you have any other solutions???

@ThandalNLyman I think you're correct. I wonder if there is any software we could dowload to redirect Speaker-C / Speaker-3 / centre-speaker to be played through the usual stereo L-R / A-B ?
Seems someone late in this post reinstalled the game and got voice-audio from story characters to work? bump? any update?

So this is for no voice in NFS Heat, but I assume applies to other games
In short: try setting to Stereo (ticking Left & Right) + ticking Virtual Surround
1 Sound > Playback > Speakers > Configure > STEREO > tick Left and Right
2 Sound > Playback > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements > tick VIRTUAL SURROUND
1.1) ran nfs-heat
1.2) opened Sound
1.3) Playback tab
1.4) ensure Speakers are listed with a green tick
1.5) click Configure > Stereo > TICK "Front Left & Right" (mine were not ticked)
Then I needed an additional step, because I noticed it wouldn't work on Stereo if i selected it using the MSI sound program, but engine noise and music would work if i selected 7.1
Sooo I went back to:
2.1 Sound > Playback > selected:
2.2 Speakers (green tick haha)
2.3 clicked Properties
2.4 Enhancements tab
2.5 Selected VIRTUAL SURROUND
then it all worked ^.^

I understand this is an old post but people are still having problems with it.
I've tried several things but apparently this one worked.
Only drawback from it is that you have to screw up the volume a tiny bit.
If you're using Realtek High Definition Audio you may experience not hearing voices in dialogues very well in the game.
Lower the sound cards hardware acceleration in the Windows Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> rightclick (Realtek(R) Audio) -> select properties -> Advanced ->unmark signal enhancements
