How did you fix it?? I'm having the same problem after the last update (it's december 12 today) and I keep getting stuck on the first loading screen, after selecting the character.
@amandas50 Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumcache.package. You don't need to save your progress.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.

Hello, my Sims 4 game keeps getting stuck on the loading screen after I try to load the CAS or a different world. This has only been happening since my last 100 hours of play time.
- I have completely deinstalled the game and redownloaded it
- gotten rid of all the mods
- renamed the folder and repaired the game
- tried to play offline
- reset my internet
- reduced my mods
- my pc is able to run the game no problem
- and there is enough disk space too
Does anyone have an Idea as to what could be the problem? or have a solution?

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select \"Run as administrator.\" Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install. Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

Please let me know what works and what doesn't, still with no mods or custom content. It's possible that you're seeing multiple issues, for example trying to load a lot using the Off the Grid challenge can cause infinite loading, but that would have no bearing on CAS.

@sovereignsimmer As noted above, Off the Grid is currently broken. For anything else, please post in Game Issues since your problem sounds limited to certain households or lots. When the game works fine some of the time—with certain households or certain saves but not others—it's almost always an in-game issue or bug.

Hello! I'm sorry for taking so long to reply and thank you for your response.
I'm still having the same problem, 5 months later. I did exactly as you said, tested without any mods of CC, but it didn't work.
As you suggested I ran a dxdiag and I'll attach to this reply. Hope you can help me :)
