Is an EA membership needed as well as Xbox live to play Unravel?

★★★ Newbie

Hi

I started Unravel with the free trial of EA , XBox 1S - then purchased X box live membership. The month trail ended for EA but the XBox live is for a year and it won't allow me access to the game anymore. Am I required  to purchase an EA "paid" membership as well as X box live to play this game or should it just work with the live?

many thanks

@BarmyBoys2 Hi there, I think there's some confusion here. It sounds like you had a trial of the EA Access service. This is detailed here: https://www.ea.com/eaaccess/en_IE.html

As part of this you can play a bunch of games in The Vault, with Unravel being one of those games. Once your subscription expires you won't be able to play the games unless you resub or get a purchased copy.

Separate from this is Xbox Live Gold. This is a service that lets you play Xbox games online and which gives you some monthly games under the "Games with Gold" program. .

Both of these are separate services and if you want to be able to play all of the Vault games, as well as play online, then you'd want both services.

If you want to play the Vault games but don't care about playing online or the Games with Gold, you could just get EA Access.

You can find out more info about the Xbox Live Gold service here: http://www.xbox.com/en-IE/live/games-with-gold

Thanks.
