Titanfall will not launch on Windows 8.1

I am running a 64 bit machine with Windows 8. I have successfully run Titanfall before, but after I upgraded to 8.1, the game stopped working. Now when I try to launch through Origin, it syncs cloud data, then fails to launch the game.

It probably wants better drivers than what were included with the upgrade. 

For whatever reason, 8.1 does that with many games and many GPUs.

I've checked all my drivers with 'driver checker' and they're all up to date but Titanfall still will not launch, any other ideas?  I also tried the 'repair game' option in Origin but it can't find any problems.

How did you fix this problem.   We are having the same issue and getting the following message:

Titalfall.exe has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

This began when I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1
