So, the in-game Origin overlay doesn't work with Titanfall. No matter how many times I press the default key (shift + F1), nothing happens. I really wouldn't care at all if it was just the overlay but the fact that it doesn't work means I cannot invite friends to my party or join theirs.
I've tried both settings ("supported games only" and "all games") but it just doesn't work. Does anybody else have the same issue?

Hi,
that is strange. I have it enabled (supported games only), used it ingame and have
been functioning as lobby leader to join into for people that do not have it enabled.
Have you tried another key combination to bind the option to?

I have identified what causes the issue and it seems to be Fraps. I frequently use it to monitor my FPS and take screenshots and every time I enable the program and launch Titanfall, the Origin overlay doesn't work. If I launch the game without Fraps then everything works just fine.

aaah ok.
Thanks for the update.

Thank you for figuring that out; it affects Mass Effect 3 also. For what it's worth the overlay seems to work fine if you launch Titanfall/ME3 first, alt-tab, launch FRAPS, then alt-tab back to the game.

I know this thread is old, but can Geforce Experience affect Origin Overlay the same way?
I don't use Fraps and MSI Afterburner, but something prevents Overlay from working

I'm having the same issue after my Origin updated randomly after I crashing my Titanfall midgame.

I have too. I updated the origin yesterday. And in-game Origin overlay doesn't work with Titanfall. Nothing happens. Why? I haven't got Fraps. Strange...
origin remove + registry clean and nothing...
Any idea?

Hi guys, I contacted EA support via Live chat and they brought it up to their specialist who attended to me under the pretense that I was having issues not pertaining to the recent update. Most suggestions I believe most of you have already tried such as reinstalling Origin, repairing Titanfall, reinstalling Titanfall, changing the settings on Origin to allow it to work on all games, closing Steam, deleting Fraps, disabling Antiviruses, disabling/removing MSI Afterburner and changing the hotkeys so they don't clash with any other overlays.
In my case, the specialist looked through my computer's info files and realized that dxgi.dll was crashing my game and tried to have me fix it with SFC /scannow in the command prompt, along with multiple other suggestions that didn't help anything. At the end of the chat, he told me that they were suddenly receiving many help tickets pertaining to the latest update to Origin that has caused certain issues to surface and the timeline of my issue related directly to this update. In other words, the update was highly likely to be the source of the overlay problem as mine stopped working after my Titanfall crashed, followed by Origin and upon restart, Origin updated and my overlay no longer worked.
His solution: Wait for the devs to solve the problem and put out a hotfix. So in the meantime, guess we're playing Titanfall (or maybe every other game, since I haven't tried them) solo.
Hope this helps solve any headaches.
