When fighting out in Titanfall, you may run into an occasional issue that could interrupt your gameplay.

Below, find the gameplay-affecting issues we’re aware of, and any troubleshooting steps we have to get you in the game.

Installation

Connectivity

Crashing & In-game

Hardware

Installation
Titanfall cannot be installed on 32-bit systems
Players running on a 32-bit version of Windows will be unable to install and play Titanfall on their PC. When installing Titanfall from a physical disc on to a 32-bit system, you'll encounter the below error, reading, "Error: A redistributable package (audio_installer.exe) was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. Soccer ball"

If you're encountering this error, you can confirm whether you system is 32-bit or 64-bit by clicking the Start button, then right-clicking Computer and selecting Properties. You'll find this information listed as "System type."

Troubleshooting Titanfall installation fails at 20% and 31%
If your installation of Titanfall fails at 20%, there is likely an issue or difficulty with your installation of Direct X.

If your installation of Titanfall fails at 31%, this is usually due to a problem encountered while downloading Titanfall's audio file.

  • You can troubleshoot your Titanfall installation by opening your Origin client, heading to the My Games tab, right-clicking the Titanfall game tile, and selecting Repair.

Hard-drive related installation issues
Some players are reporting installation issues with Titanfall when using a hard drive formatted FAT32. Due to file-size restrictions inherent to FAT32 systems, some of the larger files within the Titanfall installation are unable to be managed by these hard drives. To successfully install Titanfall, make sure your hard drive is formatted NTFS. You can find instructions on how to convert a hard drive partition to NTFS straight from Microsoft.

Titanfall will not be available for digital download via Xbox 360's Games on Demand at launch.
Titanfall will not be available for digital download via Xbox 360's Games on Demand at launch. Titanfall on the Xbox 360 is currently only available as a physical product, check your favorite retailer for when you'll be able to grab your copy of Titanfall!

Connectivity
Connection errors and infinite loop when trying to connect on slower internet connections
Exceedingly slow internet connections may cause an error message when trying to join a server or play your game. Some players may even get stuck in an infinite loop when trying to connect.

Try resetting your router or modem by unplugging it from its power source for at least fifteen seconds and then plugging it back in the game.

Connectivity workaround for older Belkin routers
Some gamers have had issues with some older Belkin routers while playing Titanfall.
Belkin has offered a workaround that should solve the issue.

Crashing & In-game
Expedition players on PC experiencing hissing audio

Some Titanfall players on PC have reported hearing a hissing or static noise while in-game after installing and playing on the Titanfall Expedition maps.

Players have reported success by navigating into their Titanfall installation folder, by defaultC:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Titanfall, going into the vpk folder, and deleting the following:

  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_034.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_035.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_036.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_037.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_038.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_039.vpk
  • client_mp_common.bsp.pak000_040.vpk
  • cam_list.txt

Once these have been deleted, log-in to your Origin client, find and right-click Titanfall in your My Games library, and select "Repair Installation" in order for your game to redownload these files correctly.

Titanfall on PC remains stuck on a loading screen
If your game becomes stuck on a loading screen when trying to play Titanfall, players have reported success by uninstalling both the Titanfall Beta, if it is still installed to your computer, then uninstalling the Titanfall full game, and finally reinstalling the Titanfall full game.

You can uninstall both the Beta and full game by heading to the My Games tab in your Origin client, right-clicking your game tile, and selecting Uninstall.

To reinstall the Titanfall full game, again right-click your Titanfall game tile and select either Download or Install.

Crashing when accepting an invitation to a match in progress while currently in a match
If you’re in the middle of a match and accept a friend’s invitation to join their match also currently in progress, your game will crash when accepting your friend’s invitation.

To solve this issue, make sure before you either inviting a friend or accepting an invitation to exit to the game lobby first.

We are aware of this issue and are working hard to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Players having issues receiving "Militia Pilot" achievement
To increase your ability to receive the "Militia Pilot" achievement, try joining a match using the Playoption, rather than Quickplay.

"Unable to retrieve Origin token" error message
We're aware of an error some players receive either at game-launch, when trying to find a match, or even in-game that reads "Unable to retrieve Origin token."

While we're investigating this issue and will have it resolved as quickly as possible, some players have reported success getting into the game with the following workarounds:

  • Repair your Titanfall game installation by heading to the My Games tab in your Origin client, right-clicking your Titanfall game tile, and selecting Repair.
  • Run Titanfall as an Administrator on your PC by navigating to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Titanfall\Titanfall.exe, if installed in its default location, right-clicking Titanfall.exe and selecting Run as Administrator.
  • Clear your Origin Data Cache, if Origin is installed in its default location on your PC, by deleting the following folders:
    • C:\ProgramData\Origin\
    • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Origin\
    • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Origin\
  • Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP by right-clicking the Internet Connection symbol in your task bar, next to your clock, and selecting Open Network and Sharing Center.
    • In there, click Manage Network Connection in the left-hand sidebar
    • Right-click on Local Area Connection and select Properties
    • Select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
    • Click the Advanced button under the General tab, then click the WINS tab
    • Click Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP

Xbox One ranking reset on 3/14-15
Some Xbox One players have reported their ranking in Titanfall has recently reset.

Our friends at Microsoft and Xbox Support are diligently investigating this issue and will provide updates as quickly as possible.

Stay tuned to @Titanfallgame and @XboxSupport on Twitter and the official Xbox Support Xbox Live Status page for the latest updates.

Hardware
Kinect cannot be used for voice-comms, and Voice and microphone functionality on PC
Due to an intentional design-choice by Respawn, Xbox One and Xbox 360 players cannot use Kinect for Voice over IP, or voice-communication, in-game.

Similarly, PC players with a microphone-containing-webcam set as your default microphone will have your microphone turned on automatically when playing Titanfall.  If you do not wish to have your microphone on during gameplay, simply disable it in your game settings or disable it as your default microphone in your computer settings.

Some Intel processors must install specific beta graphics drivers
PC players with specific Intel processors, specifically those with Intel Graphics, must download and install a special beta graphics driver to ensure their game runs properly

You can find this driver, along with a full list of what Intel processors the driver is compatible with, straight from Intel.
