Not able to use xbox 360 controller for pc

I just recently bought a xbox 360 controller off ebay and have installed the drivers and made sure it works but I'm unable to switch from mouse/keyboard to controller. I've looked under everything in options and for some reason it wont allow me to switch to controller unless I'm not doing something right.

Have you already tried to completely re-install the Microsoft Xbox 360 driver and are you using any kind of controller profile software (like xpadder) and have you plugged in any other USB device other than your keyboard or mouse?
