sims 4 stuck on start up loading screen after new update [ Edited ]

intial start up screen is frozen, plays music but the screen is frozen. I open the app and it stays like that. I play on a mac. I havent downloaded any custom content only got the new update. please help!! x

Even if you haven't downloaded any custom content, do you have any mods installed? If so, please try to open the game without them. You might find this article interesting: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/mods-and-the-sims-4-game-updates/

If that doesn't help, could you try to repair your game through Origin? Just right click on the game in your Origin Game Library and select 'Repair'. Origin will check the installation files for you, to make sure everything downloaded correctly
