Sims 3 Error

I have recently downloaded my sims 3 game through Origin rather then relying on the disc but when I click play a message comes up saying that an unknown error has occurred. I would really appreciate any advice on how to avoid this error because I have spent a lot of money on my Sims games and would like to be able to play them.

@BobBobsonny Did you get a new computer? Is your computer a pc or mac?

I did get a new computer. I have a mac. I kept the same origin account though and the game is connected to that account.
