My sims 4 download through origin stops after less than 1 minute and is "calculating." This has happened repeatedly. I'm logged in as an administrator and have tried downloading in safe mode. I'm using a mac and OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Thanks. Do you happen to have an anti-virus program? They can impede installs too, so it's worth checking that.
The next thing to try would be a safe boot of your system, to check for other 3rd party program interference.

@Augman678 Hi, is there any chance that your security software is blocking the install? You could try (temporarily) disabling it then try the install process again.
If you're still seeing this issue today, please let us know how you get on.

@EA_David Hi Yes, my firewall is totally disabled and origin has been added to the list of apps allowed to control my computer. I allow apps downloaded from the mac app store and identified developers.
I start the download, it reaches 2% and then stops downloading and says "calculating"

Hi there,
I'm having the same issue.
Firewall is off but it's still calculating.
What could I do?
Thanks,

Have you tried all the troubleshooting steps in the stickied Origin/Mac thread - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/MAC-Origin-Troubleshooting-and-Information/m-p/5371659#U537165...

I get that too. What I do is I pause the download and then force quit origin (because origin doesn't like to quit on my mac) and then re-open origin and resume the download. You have to do it a few times though for it to complete the download properly. I don't know if this screws up my download but it works well enough.
