I can't launch the actual app for origin (mac)

I downloaded Sims 4 before actually downloading the actual Origin application and for some strange reason when I click to open the app, it loads for a little bit and then takes me to my home screen and when I right click on the icon from there, it says "application not responding" and it does nothing else from there. What can I do???

Could you please reset Origin: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/ 

After reinstalling from the new setup file check if the same issue occurs.
