[CURRENT ISSUES] - Sims 3 & Sims 4 in macOS [ Edited ]

Hello all,

We thought it may be a good idea to merge the known current issue threads for Sims 3 and Sims 4 into one stickied thread for reference. A current issue is where a lot of Mac users are experiencing the exact same issue and reporting the same problem. The issue may be specific to certain model Macs or a certain version of macOS or it may affect every Mac user. Please bear in mind that this does not include bugs or issues which affect Windows users too - this list of current issues is Mac specific. This list is not exhaustive but will primarily deal with the most serious, game-breaking issues:

Sims 3

• Unknown Error message appears after installing Late Night/Ambitions/Outdoor Living/Fast Lane on a Mac running macOS 10.11 El Capitan or 10.12 Sierra. • Expansion and Stuff Packs not showing as installed in the Launcher or the Applications > Sims 3 folder (probably Ambitions/Late Night/Fast Lane/Outdoor Living). • Disc authorisation error or No game disc found error on a Mac running macOS 10.11 El Capitan or 10.12 Sierra. • Game will not load or frequently crashes on a 2013 or later model Mac. Please read this thread which explains why there may be problems with the game on these newer Macs. Sims 4

• Serious graphics issues and/or crashing on a Mac with NVIDIA GeForce GT graphics cards with 512Mb VRAM (possibly 1024Mb VRAM too). This is due to incompatibility with the game and Apple's drivers.
