Try following the instructions for a previous model MBP with Intel Iris graphics but enter the details of your Mac's graphics instead - Intel Iris 540. There is no perfect solution, we only have the details for other Macs through very helpful Simmers trial and error If it works please let us know!

I have a 2014 11 inch MacBook Air with an 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 memory and a Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB graphics card. I installed Sims 3 with no expansions and i STILL get this error! Help!!

Are you running El Capitan or Sierra? If so then that is most likely the cause as the game is now virtually unplayable in those operating systems

I have recently started getting the "unexpected error message, do you want to debug it?" message whilst my sims 3 game has almost finished loading and gameplay is about to begin.
The spec for my Mac is:
Model Identifier: MacBookPro13,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.9 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
I've had this laptop since the beginning of the year and gameplay has been perfect until recently. I've seen various threads like these and attempted the solutions, but I'm still having no luck.
Thanks!

HI, I'm experiencing the same issues and I clicked on the link but the iMac Model identifier: iMac 12,1 is not on the list. What should I do?

Your exact error message is quoted in the opening post on this thread and is a symptom of an unsupported Mac. Applying the fix may work.

I have applied the fix but am still getting this error.

When I launch the game, I get nothing but a black screen. My Mac is a 13-inch MacBook Pro. (2016, model identifier
MacBookPro13,2, Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB) which obviously isn't on the list as of now, so would someone please look into it?
