Looking into this there seems to be some confusion in your case. I can see another thread where your Origin is not working.
This particular thread is for some different circumstances, and as you have another thread already it's best to stick to there.

@kingsanda11 Hey, this is a long thread, can you post specifics about your issue? We want to make sure the right issue is being addressed.
Can you try the steps listed in the thread, starting with Kristi's post here? If this proves ineffective, please let us know any steps you've tried.

i had this happen to me just then and if you go into you task manager (ctrl, alt, del) and goto the processes tab and end all the origin processes it should work. worked for me GL

i have did everything you have said but nothing is working it keeps saying " this did not go as planed " ans then tells me to reload it, i have done that. it also tells me to redo it at the clinet i have done that as well and closing and opening the app it is not working at all.

Have you tried manually deleting Origin and then reinstall it ?

Here's what solved the issue for me: I have 2 drives, SSD and an old Hard Drive. It doesn't work on the SSD and works beautifully on the HD.
Origin is installed on the SSD, and all my other games are. That's where my Windows is too, so I don't get it, but maybe it'll help someone who only has an SSD on their computer, for example.

Running as 32 bit solved mine. I hate that the default is always uninstall origin. My internet is slow so this means days of waiting and then it's potluck if Origin works and doesn't get stuck in a permanent updating/blank screen some other stupid fault. I really think EA should refund their loyal customers who have spent hundreds of pounds on Sims games and can now only play them 1 out of 10 times that they want to. Origin is really a joke.

Thank you FR FR. It's been a real struggle trying to get this game to work. Your solution was my last easy resort, so if your solution wasn't going to work I was going to resort to some EXSTREME *. SO FR THX.
