sims 3 Travel trouble

I'm having trouble traveling to either France, Egypt or Paris. No matter what sim I use or which country I pick it will load but my sim panel doesn't show my sim any of their wishes and I can't bring up the rest of my Sims bar. I tried resetting my sim but that doesn't work. It seemed to be working fine when I played last. This only happens when I try to travel. When I'm on my home lot everything is fine
