expansion pack won't install

I just got a new (not actually new, it was kind of old and wasn't being used anymore by my brother) laptop, and I've been spending the whole day re-downloading my Sims 3 expansion packs. All of my expansion packs download on Origin easily, except for Into the Future, which I lost the promo code info for. I still have the disc, but every time I put it in my computer; nothing happens. My computer will make a whirring sound like it IS working, but it won't give me any notifications that it's ready to install or wants to make changes to my computer. Does anyone have any advice?

If you had it installed at one time it should still be in your EA account info (under the same account name that you had it installed on before) if you cannot find it there I would contact EA support. If you can verify that it was your account it had been installed on they should be able to help you re-activate it onto your Origin account so you do not have to use the disc
