Windows 8, Sims 3 Seasons Crashing Every 10 Minutes

I recently downloaded the sims 3 seasons to my windows 8 computer.  It worked fine for awhile, but now it's crashing every 10 minutes.  I do have custom content downloaded to my game, but that has never bothered any other expansion I've had before.  Like I said, the expansion was working fine when I first downloaded it, and now I'm experiencing problems.  Any ideas on ways to fix this issue?

I tried running without custom content and am still experiencing the issue.
