We're unable to connect to ea servers to activate Sims 3

I'm trying to download some Sims 3 clothes, hair, etc, etc and it says this, "We're unable to connect to EA servers to activate Sims 3." Is it just me for are other people getting this problem as well? Just started having this problem from 6:00 PM EDT and so on. Please HELP!
