Town not loading after vacation

Okay so here's the problem: My sim went to Egypt (14 days) and everything was great and he was ready to go home, but I saved and exit the game like 4 hours before he was sent back to Isla Paradiso. When I started playing again, for an unknown reason, the user interface was gone. I fixed the problem after I deleted all the cache, played with the backup file instead and added the errortrap mod by Nraas because I read somewhere that it would be useful. But when I played (again) there was a new problem: my sim finished an adventure and then he was sent home, but the loading screen got stuck or something and 98% but the tips still change and all and I can hear my sim making noises and talking to other sims, walking through doors, the cellphone ringing, etc. The bar gets filled really fast and then suddenly stops… it doesn't make sense.

I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. I removed all the mods, deleted caches but the loading screen keeps getting stuck and I keep hearing my sim arriving home and talking to the others sims and doing stuff.

Anything that can be done?
