The Sims 3 store issue

I've recently tried to download Sims from the Sims 3 store, when I try to install them on the launcher a message pops up saying ;

"Installation failed: please make sure your game has the latest software updates and try again"
Does anyone know how to resolve this? Please help!

i discovered it will install if I re-download it piece by piece from the store

What is your base game version right now ?

To find out, open your launcher and hover over the little base game icon in the lower left part of the launcher. It should say 1.38.

 

Do you mean the actual Store or the Exchange ?

I have the exact same problem:  Recently I did a complete reinstall, and all of the content I purchased and downloaded from the store won't install now.  I can see it in the download folder, but when I install I get the message "Installation Failed: Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again.  Done!"

 

My SIMS 3 version is 1.39.3.018001
