The Sims 3 crashing

Now that I have a new computer I thought sims would run great on it - which it does until it started crashing. It crashes within 10 minutes every time, with or without expansion packs, with or without custome content, with or without high or low settings or windowed mode or admin etc. I tried everything I could search on google. I even reinstalled my game multiple times and reformatted my computer. Now all I can think of is maybe its a hardware issue but I know nothing about computers. I already tried switching out the graphic card with a different one but that didn't make a difference. All hardware and games are up to date too.

i5-3570k

8gb ram

64 bit

gtx 560 overclocked graphic

I'm open to all suggestions, I only bought this computer to play this game and spent too much money on it for it not to work

[ Edited ]

Have you tried all tips here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Game-Crashes-CTD/td-p/656/ especially DEP ?

Do you have a switchable card in your computer and are your graphic drivers up-to-date ?

What is your Operating System ?

Re: The Sims 3 crashing

Yeah I tried all of that. I'm not quite sure you mean by a switchable card but I've only got 1 graphic card. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate with service pack 1

Re: The Sims 3 crashing

Is this a laptop or desktop ?

Could you post your full Computer's DxDiag?

To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps below:

If you have Microsoft Windows XP:
1. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Select Run.
3. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Save All Information.

If you have Windows Vista/Win 7 and do not have a Run selection:

1. Click On Start
2 Type dxdiag into Search Box
3. Click Save All Information.

Either use two posts to post all or only post the part up to [sound device].

Please let me know if you have a switchable graphic card. That usually does not show in the DxDiag.

Your system looks fine. I have no idea what could be the issue in your case.

Have you run a diagnostic program to see if the hardware is ok ?

Do you have problems with any other Software/Games ?

Re: The Sims 3 crashing

Yeah I have all of the hardware is ok. Any other games on here run fine with no crashing. The only difference is that I have Sims installed on my SSD not my harddrive, so I'm going to try uninstalling it and putting it on the regular one instead

Nevermind... reinstalling it onto a different harddrive didn't do anything. Still crashes. Guess I'll just have to get another new computer. Thanks though

Re: The Sims 3 crashing

[ Edited ]

I don't think that's a solution.

Let's start over with trouble shooting

- At what point does your game crash ? Any regularities ?
- How long can you usually play ?
- Which EP/SPs do you have installed ?
- Are you using custom content and mods in your game ?

Did you try the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/ ?

Re: The Sims 3 crashing

I have the same problem!

I JUST bought a new Asus computer (as in this morning), it is a gaming computer 8g memory, 64 bit 1tb hard drive with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M graphic card and runs windows 8 I have 16/18 games and installed content (I transferred my old saves from my other laptop). I did change the setting to high graphics and expanded the screen to fill (its 17.5) but there is nothing else on here outside of origin besides skype and Firefox, I should be able to run it with all this without it crashing. It cannot possibly be my laptop so my question is, is there something wrong with Sims? When I backed up my files I only saved the worlds, Sims, and downloaded content.

With my last computer I was told it crashed because the graphic card could not keep up with all the games, this is why I bought a gaming computer, there is no point in me doing a diagnostic on my computer because this is the same problem I had with my last computer and this one is new, is it possible that maybe its just SIms and its something that they need to fix and make a patch for? THis is not the fist issue I have had with Sims, my origin never connects to the Sims launcher no matter how many times I install and uninstall it I even spent time with EA help to get it fixed and nothing worked.
