Today I bought The Sims 3 Seasons off of Amazon, which directed me to Origin for the installation process. So I did what Origin said to; download, update base game, install. Here's the thing, though: When I installed the game there wasn't any sort of installation screen like there normally is when installing a Sims game. But eventually Origin tells me that the installation process is done and my game is ready to play. Alright, nice. I hit play, the launcher comes up, and then I hit the actual game play button. The Sims 3 launcher then decides to disappear and nothing happens. I've tried everything from skipping the launcher and directly starting the game to reinstalling everything, but nothing has helped. Currently I only have the base game installed since I had to uninstall everything during the process of trying to fix this. Seasons is still not working and right now I'd like to smack whoever thought Origin was a good idea. Any help would be much appreciated, as I'd really like to play this game. Hope I was clear enough. Thanks in advance.

I am having the exact same issue! I bought it yesterday from Gametreemac.com which is the website I usually use for all of my Sim games, I get to the launcher and it says I have to update my game, after doing that, another update your game message comes up. No matter how many times I ignore the message, the game still won't work when I click on the actual play button. I am hoping that they will put out a new update that helps people like us in a few days since the game just came out! I've tried everything to make this work and it just won't!

I'm having the exact same problem. I've reinstalled the game about 3 times and it still won't work when I add the Seasons expansion. It installs and downloads fine but when I click play it flashes to a loading screen (blue screen with green diamond) and it closes automatically.
Kinda p*ssed off that I've wasted £20 on a game that doesn't even work and they can't even come up with a solution or AT LEAST a refund.

So here we are in May, and I'm having the same problem. Shouldn't there be, like, I don't know, an UPDATE for this issue? I already have the base game and World Adventures installed, so I buy Seasons and install it. Oh looky there... Now it's not working.
Spent 2 hours chatting with tech support while he puts me through a plethora of scenarios to fix this (none of which worked) then says that I need to call EA tech support and say I have an escalated case. I do that, wait on hold for an hour, talk to a guy who sends me to a "Sims 3 specialist," wait on hold for another 30 minutes, and guess what happens? The phone disconnects. Granted, this is the FOURTH time I've pestered tech support, and perhaps they're just tired of hearing from me. But, seriously? This needs to be fixed!

having the same problem almost a year after the 1st post here on this, Got Seasons yesterday from Amazon, went thru the delete and reinstall of the Base Game line EA said to do, actually got the game up, made one play then the game just frezzes, all I see going on is my Lizard is still snoring even after a 1/2 hour. Found a site that said to clean out the games caches, turn graghics down off of all set on high, even took the time to clean up my hard drive and defrag, rebooted, started the game, and still none better, all I get is my sleeping lizard !
What's up, this is pissing me off
