Sudden problem loading game

I have Sims 3, Ambitions, and World Adventures. I used Origins to load and play and it worked the first time I tried to play but when I tried to play again all I got was a dark screen. I had to turn off my computer because it stayed stuck on the dark screen and has done the same thing every time I've tried to play since. Any help would be welcome.

• Does the launcher start?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• How far do you get, try to describe what happens in as much details as possible (without getting too lenghty)
• Do all installed games show up in the Origin client?
• Which base game version do you have: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/sims-3-base-game-versions.html
• Which Security Software are you using (Firewall, Antivirus)?
• Do you have the disc or download version or a mix?
• Do you have any files with xctp in your documents\electronicarts\thesims3\ folder ? (those are crash logs)?
