Stuck in Create a Sim/Create a Household

I don't know if this has been asked before but I am stuck., I go to "Create a Household" to create a Sim and it stays in the loading screen and does no load or let me create a sim. Stays on screen with that little green diamond. I left it on for an hour and nothing happened. I can change my Sims clothing fine, there are no issues there. Someone please help me mileysad:

• Close the game and launcher
• Go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3 and rename that to thesims3_old (you won't loose any data, it's still in there for later use)
• Start the game. A new folder will be created
• Check if CAS now works as it should.
• Come back with the result and we'll go from there.

Do you now want to put some of your old stuff back or is this fine for you ?

It's not that it didn't help, I don't know how to do what it's saying. Should I just uninstall it all and re-install it?

No, you just rename the user data folder.

Do you know how to rename a folder or how to look for one on your computer ?

I kind of do, that makes a little bit of sense to me. Rename userdata folder. I know how to look for one.

Will it have all of the items I bought from the store? I think I understand now. If I want stuff back in, I put each file back and check each file withe the game to see which file it is. It is probably stuff I downloaded which I am fine with not putting back, what file would that be?
