Still have sims 3 Generations code, but not the disc?

My computer got messed up, so I had to unistall all of my sims games. Now, I only have the code for my game, because I don't know where my disc is. Is there any way that I can still play the game without the disc, instead of buying a whole new game?

If you don't already have it, download origin and make an account then go onto the Sims website and make a linked account on there (all EA accounts are linked to each other by the email used). You will be able to use the serial number to register the game on the Sims website which will appear in origin available as a digital download, meaning you will never need a disk again and, as an added bonus, once you register the game it will record the serial number on origin.

I tried this thing with my sims 3 ambitions, but the download option never shows up. The only option when I mouse over it is play. How can I download it?
