Sims transfer from one computer to another

I just got a new mac book and was wondering how you transfer Sims 3 to a new mac. When I went on to Sims the game works but my saved games are not there only the option to start a new game. Where can I find my old saved games? I found them on my back up drive but do not know how to transfer them.

connect the other drive to your computer find your save file open it  then on your computer go to the ea/the sims3 folder open the folder then look for folder save games open that  then copy and paste each save game into the folder
