Sims not responding after a few minutes running

I recently downloaded the sims 3 and whenever i start the game after a few minutes it ceases to respond and ultimatly crashes. this typically happenes during the create sim step. i set all the graphics setting to low and am running it in windowed mode but the problem comtinues. I checked the system requirements and i am above and beyond all of them.

• What's your operating system ?
• Does the launcher start ?
• How far do you get, try to describe what happens in as much details as possible (without getting too lenghty)
• Do all installed games show up in the Origin client ?
• Which base game version do you have: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/sims-3-base-game-versions.html
• Which Security Software are you using (Firewall, Antivirus) ?
• Do you have the disc or download version or a mix ?
• Do you have any files with xctp in your documents\electronicarts\thesims3\ folder ? (those are crash logs) ?
