Sims High-End Loft not loading onto my Mac

I just purchased a disc for the Sims 3 High-End Loft stuff. When I try to load this onto my Macbook pro OS-X ver 10.6.8, the following message comes up:

"Select a volume where The SIMS 3 already installed. 400MB of space required."

Despite trying various directories , The system will not proceed any further with the installation.

I would appreciate your urgent assistance

Just to be sure: Do you have the actual base game and is it on the same disc/partition you're trying to install HEL ?
