Sims 3 worlds bundle not installing

I bought the sims 3 worlds bundle at game stop. It came with two disks, and an insert that says to install i just have to put the disks in and follow the on screen instructions. I did that and it said it was successfully installed, however the worlds were not in my game. I tried again and this time the launcher opened after the installation process asking for a 16 character serial code. my game did not come with one. any help would be appreciated, thanks.
