Sims 3 will not accept serial code [mac]

I bought the game completely legit as the win/mac direct download and it loads in origin. When I play it, it says it is an non final, unauthorized copy of the game. When I go to https://www.thesims3.com/registeragame.html to register my game, and I copy the serial code from the origin page under the Sims 3 game, it will not accept my serial code. It either says "TypeError: Cannot read property 'map' of null" or that it is an invalid code. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a reason it will not accept the code?

When you purchase The Sims 3 or any of its Expansions or Stuff Packs through Origin, you no longer need to manually register your product through The Sims 3’s website. Just make sure that your Origin account details match the details of your Sims 3 account, and Origin will register your products for you.

If you do not have an account on the Sims 3 website yet, just log in with your Origin account there.

I got that message too. I bought 4 games via download from gamestop. I went to redeem the codes on origin, and all of them said "Cannot redeem here. Must redeem on thesim3.com/registeragame.html and I went to it, and all of them came back "cannot read property map of null". I installed them through gamestop, but they wont show up in my Sims game! WHAT DO I DO I WASTED $90 ON THESE GAMES I NEED THEM TO WORK!!!
