Sims 3 on Steam Issue With actually playing the game

I bought the sims 3 on steam 2 days ago i believe and it says i need to reinstall it when i did reinstall it, is there anyway i can get help from this? I hope i didn't waste my 20.00 for nothing please get back to me as soon as you can.

It said my code to play then to enter but then it said to play reinstall and i did it two times it still didn't work so i am having issues and i would really love to play the sims 3.
