Sims 3 installation not working

I've tried to install sims 3 for the 4th time today and it will get to a certain point then exit the installation screen and go back to the Origin "My games" page and make me do it all over again. Seeing as I cant return it, or use it on a different computer, I'm pretty pissed I wasted money on a game I literally cannot play now. Does anyone have any words of advice?

You may have anti-virus or other software running in the background that could be causing this to occur.

Try a clean boot before starting the game installation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

It may also be worthwhile running Origin as an Administrator: http://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator
