Sims 3 game won't load

I just installed Sims 3 University life, my game is up to date and has the most recent patch, but I've been having issues with loading and saving my game. The first problem I have been having is that when I go to save my game, a box pops up that says something about an error occurring and to view the readme file. The second issue, is when I go to actually load a game, it loads about a quarter of the way, and then something pops up and says " a serious error occurred while loading so and so game, it is recommended that you restart your application." PLEASE HELP! I've tried installing my game and reinstalling it numerous times and that won't help. I've looked up a few things online, but nothing seems to be working. I just want to freaking play my game already! haha.
