Sims 3 disc.

Hi there I'm in a  bit of a  confusing situation with my Sims games and im  hoping you  can  help somehow.

Basically I have lost  the  disc for the most recent expansion pack that I have installed - Sims 3  Pets  but i have the product code so I redeem all  of that on origin. The problem  now is  i have to uninstall  any  disc versions  of games apparently.  I hav e Sims 3 Generations installed also but  i  only have  the disc no product code so  if  I uninstall the disk versions I can't play Generations at all.  Is   there anything I can do?
