Sims 3 crashing to desktop (windows 8)

I have Sims 3, Sims 3 Supernatural & Sims 3 University Life

Every time I go on to play, whether its on CAS, or game mode it crashes to the desktop, but I can click to go back onto the game, and continue playing
It keeps crashing more and more frequently

Can anyone help with this problem??
