Sims 3 World Adventure Cyclic Redundancy Error

Just bought Sims World Adventure have already taken the disc back twice, reintstalled DirectX and Tip#3 by uninstalling DVD/CD ROM.  The is no option to uninstall-it only shows properties. This is the only disc that makes a loud terrible scratching noise when I put it in the drive. Won't download completely just repeatedly says "cyclic redundancy check error". Sims 3 installled fine.
