My first problem was that when I clicked my Sims 3 icon on my desktop, nothing happened. I couldn't get the game to start. Then I went to Origin and logged in, and I couldn't do anything on the website either because it said I was in offline mode. When I clicked the link to go to online mode, nothing happened. I didn't know what else to do, so I uninstalled the game from my laptop so I could have the game without an Origin account. That didn't work either. What would you suggest?

Also I can't download the game onto my laptop again without going through Origin, and I can't do that because my account won't go into online mode. And my internet is working fine.

Make sure you have Proxies turned off. Control Panel --> Internet Options --> Connections --> LAN Settings --> Untick Proxy Server
