Sims 3 University not working. would like refund.

I purchased the Sims 3 University life on 10/29/14 overall digital download through Origin. Since downloading it my game refuses to turn on. I would like a refund. I have not played it at all since. Every attempt to launch ends in a black screen and then being kicked to the desktop. Running Windows 8.1.

for the black screen issue try compatibility mode

 

 

right click the game shortcut icon on your desktop-properties-compatibility-tick the run this programs  as an administrator   -tick the run in compatibility mode for select in the drop down menu select the windows 7 (or xp) click ok you will also need to check each expansion pack and stuff pack icon you have  that you do the same for each one that they have the same compatibility mode as your base game icon shortcut once you have selected the computability mode for each one it's a good idea to restart the computer
