Sims 3 Unable to Start Game Error

Service Initialization failed (0x0175dcbb) Erorr comes up when I try to launch Sims 3. I have a mac. This issue never happened before I tried to download Sims 3 University Life from Origin (Which also doesnt work). Been on hold with EA help for about an hour now. Not very happy. Can I get a refund if nothing works? Can't seem to get a hold of anyone.

I have no idea whatsoever when it comes to MAC's but this error sounds similar to a lot of Windows errors caused by old registry entries. Do MACs have registries like Windows? Basically in Windows, you just delete the registry entries of any old installations you DONT have (expansion packs, stuff packs, etc.).
