Sims 3 Supernatural Won't respond at all

I bought the Sims 3 Supernatural. Once installed, I got the current patch. Now whenever I try and start the game it takes 10 minutes (I timed it) to get from Game Launcher to Menu screen, and then 3-4 hours to actually load a game. No exaggeration.

If you try and bypass the launcher, the game just freezes and won't load at all. My system specs are above the minimum requirements, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game already but it's still doing this. Any ideas on how to get around this? The game was working fine before the patch. I didn't see anyone else having the exact problem I am either.

Are you using any mods and or custom content in your game ? If so, remove it and delete your cache files

Go to documents\ea\thesims3 and delete these files

• CASPartCache.package
• compositorCache.package
• scriptCache.package
• simCompositorCache.package
• socialCache.package
