Sims 3 Into The Future installed but not recognized

I pre-ordered Sims 3 Into The Future on October 18th, and last night at about 1 am I proceeded to download and install it. After installing I went to load the game, and it is not beng recognized in the launcher. In fact, it loaded up as Sims 3 Movie Stuff. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times from Origin (I am on a mac btw), and nothing worked so I uninstalled Sims 3 Movie Stuff and tried again. Now when I load it, the launcher doesn't come up at all instead I get a message saying "The Sims 3 | Unknown Error Occurred". Please help!

Seems a common issue on Macs
