Sims 3 Base game is incompatible with current expansion pack

I installed Sims 3 Nightlife and it worked fine for the first couple days that I played it.  After I got a notification to update my game and installed the update (6.5.1.011031).  Now every time I try to play the game, I get the error "Your The Sims 3 Baes Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack.  Please update your game via the game laucnher".  When I attempt to update my game, it tells me that my game is up to date.

There has been an unresolved question asked similiar to this and the person attempting to answer told to check the version of the base game by hovering over the icon in the game launcher.  My base game is version 1.17.60.009001.
