Robbed on Sims 3!!!

Ok so recently I have been getting robbed very often and is there a way other than using a burglar alarm? Such as removing the door at night, will the burglars still come? So tired of getting robbed almost every single day. And I don't want to use the burglar alarm Any other ideas to stop burglars?

A guess would be it's probably the same sim with the robber trait. Find that sim and delete or kill the sim off (build a room around the sim with no doors).
