Resolution Issues?

Whenever I try and install my new sims 3 game, my computer says it can't because the "resolution is equal to 384," and that "this program requires VGA or better resolution." I've installed a bunch of sims games before on this exact PC I'm using now and I've never had this issue arise. What do I do?

@izzyann145 Prior to The Sims 3 the computer hardware require was not very demenading. The Sims 3 pushed the Sims franchise into the 3D gaming realm and introduced minimum hardware requirements. Please post your computer's dxdiag - link - how to post your computer's dxdiag   Thank you.

So that was fun, but all I had to do was restart my computer. Gotta love technology... Thanks though!
