Hello! New to the forum but I've been a Sim's player for years. Now usually i play on a crappy old laptop, but about a year ago I got a custom pc built, and installed sims 3 and the supernatural expansion. I never really played it, life has been busy, now I wanted to play again, and I keep getting the "Sims 3 has stopped working. Its always right before the world loads, or after i choose create-a-sim vs move in family. It crashes to desktop. Now i've been combing google and trying to fix for days.
What I've Done:
1. Changed the DEP in my Windows settings, still crashes. Did for the sims 3 and all expansions.
2. Moved "The Sims 3" Folder from Documents/Electronic Arts to desktop. I HAVE NO CUSTOM CONTENTS OR MODS. I dont even have saved games or sims. The only content I have purchased from the sims store and installed is the hollow world.
3. I have lowered all graphics and settings down and attempted play in windowed mode. Helps the crash not happen as quickly but still crashes after loading.
4. Made sure that game is fully updated with all patches, same with computer, drivers, and graphics.
5. Uninstalled and reinstalled the games today. Still crashes. I'm at wits end.
I have SIMS 3 DISC COLLECTORS EDITION INSTALLED
SIMS 3 SUPERNATURAL EXPANSION (DISC) INSTALLED AND ORIGIN DOWNLOADED LATE NIGHT, WORLD ADVENTURES, AMBITIONS, GENERATIONS, PETS, AND SHOWTIME EXPANSIONS INSTALLED

Was following directions on several threads here that seemed to be going well until my launcher gave me an error and told me to go to log for more info. Per forum that is a problem that occurs for various reasons, but i must have messed with something I shouldnt. I am currently resintalling the game after manually uninstalling programs and files.

Yeah, if you got that error, reinstalling is good.
Your computer is not the issue alhough it could do with a graphics drivers update.
Good Luck
