Need help with Sims 3 and Orgin

I have sims 3 downloaded on my mac from the disc from a couple years ago but i lost the disc. So i bought the online one from Orgin, but everytime i try to play it says the disc is not in, but I thought that with Orgin you didn't have to have a disc to play, please help.

You didn't have to buy the game again you could have downloaded it from Origin. You have to uninstall the disc version and install the digital download version from Origin. The drm is different. There is Origin for mac.

thank you, how do i uninstall the disc version? i cant figure out how.
