Need help new to pc gaming "system requirements"

Iv just bought my first laptop and know nothing about them I want to play the Sims 3 would it work on this my laptop?

The Sims 3 has relatively low requirements, the game should play fine with your machine.

PC System Requirements

RAM: For XP 1 GB RAM / Windows Vista and Windows 7 1.5 GB RAM*
