I purchased Monte Vista and tried to install: It asked for me to choose the language, then to accept the terms and then to install. I clicked on Install and within 1 second it went straight to "installation finished", yet it is not installed.
It never asked me for the game code or anything.
I tried to do an online chat, but I think there was a language barrier as they kept saying that if it says installed - what is the problem.
Has anyone else had this happen??
By the way my game is up to date with the latest patch etc etc.

Have you checked whether it is in your downloads folder/purchase history?

I'm having this problem too, and Monte Vista does not appear in the folder with the rest of my downloads. When I tried to start the process over from the beginning the system said my code had already been redeemed.

Did you check your purchase History: https://store.thesims3.com/purchaseHistory.html to see if it's there for you to download ?

Hi - so this is a part of the disc installation process from the link below:
"When installing the Monte Vista DVD, the disc automatically runs the installation wizard. After a few clicks, the installation ceases, and opens up the Sims 3 Launcher. You will be greeted with a welcome screen that requires a log in to your Sims 3 account, and the 16 digit code found on the pamphlet inside the Monte Vista case"
In my case the Sims 3 launcher does not open and ask for the 16 digit code - it just says "installation finished" and then nothing.
It is not in my downloads either as I followed a link from a previous persons answer and it definitely is not there.
Any more idea's?? The disc definitely has files on it (thought it may have been a blank one, but no)

I had the same problem with my Disk install. The Disk itself is useless. What you need is the 16 digital code from inside your box.
While trying to instal the game the game launcher would NOT give me the screen to add my serial number that came with the disk. I finally got it to install by following these steps.
1. Log into sims3 account online.
2. go to My Store Account https://store.thesims3.com/myAccount.html
3. Choose "Redeem a Code"
4. Enter 16 digital code from store disk and click "redeem" button.
5. Go to Purchase History http://store.thesims3.com/purchaseHistory.html
6. Download Monte Vista
7. Go to game launcher downloads section and install Monte Vista
Hope this helps someone else down the line.

I tried this but there is nothing under my purchase history.....and other ideas?

Thank you kathyr25! I had the same problem with my disc too but it seems to be finally installing the correct game (now that I've followed your directions). What's the point of even giving a disc if it doesn't actually install anything???
