My laptop was being a pain when I was happily waiting for staff to get back to me, question is it still writing chat when I call them back? I'm so new contacting EA, but I know what I want to ask.
The staff sound lovely. Sadly I will be away in 3 days

If you call them back on the phone you will not be "typing" (doing online live chat)
But since you said you have to go away for a little bit -
not to worry, you can re-open your online chat case:
Once you open up a case with the live chat, whether by phone or online, you will get a case number in your email from them. That way you can open the case back up if it was not resolved and was closed. Go onto: https://help.ea.com Then at the top left of the page where it says 'Games" - "Account" - "Contact Us" - click on Account, then scroll down to cases and click on that. It will give you a list of all your cases - then click on the one you are working on and it will give you the option to re-open/resume it.
